As the weather starts warming up, we’re already seeing some unexpected visitors making themselves at home inside HVAC equipment. This week during a service visit, our technician opened up a condenser and found a little critter trying to beat the Texas heat by settling in near the electrical components.
Believe it or not, this happens more often than people realize. Outdoor HVAC units provide small animals with shade, warmth, and protection, which can make them an attractive hiding spot. Unfortunately, when critters get inside these systems, they can chew wires, build nests, and cause damage that prevents the system from running properly.
This is one of the many reasons regular system inspections and maintenance are so important. During routine maintenance, our technicians check electrical components, wiring, and other critical parts of the unit to ensure everything is clean, secure, and running safely.
While we may not be able to stop every curious lizard or squirrel from investigating your system, catching potential issues early can help prevent larger repairs down the road.
If you haven’t had your system checked recently, now is a great time to schedule a maintenance visit and make sure your equipment is ready to handle the warmer months ahead.
